Taken from the idea of using symbols I have copied my favourite and ones most relevant to the branding. From looking at the book we both found the Agriculture symbols are most relevant.
After drawing the symbols in illustrator I drew them onto graph paper to see what elements could be transformed into a grid to create Séarlait's typeface. The drawing on the 2nd image on the bottom right show what could be accenders, decenders and bridges.
Looking at existing typefaces
Taking Neutraface and deconstructing the joins and eliments to see how to construct a working gird to create a typeface. I then played around with the grid I had created and made a vairty of B's & C's.
